Hello, my name is Dan (or Daniel) and I am a Whoser. Anyway,
I'm the third-youngest Whoser. I began my WL experience on YTV when
I was very young. I didn't get a lotof jokes because I didn't understand
the accent very well, but I watched it a lot.
Eventually it got moved past my bedtime (I said I was young *G*) and
finally cancelled, although I did remember reading an article criticizing
YTV for cancelling it in Starweek (if I was a Whoser then, I would've
saved it). Eventually, I rediscovered it on TCN, searched the Internet
for "Who's Line Is It Anyway" and came up with nothing.
Then, a couple days later, I thought... is it "Who's" or "Whose"????
So I searched with the latter form, and voila! I visited Mark's page
and visited IRC, where I met the most wonderful people in the world.
And then I started posting on the newsgroup and attended one STC taping!
Yippee!
Hello, my name is Dana, and I am a Whoser. As for WLiiA... i've
been watching (comedy central) since 1992 or so... (freshperson year
in high school) and i can't pick favorites. i love mr. greg proops
Hello, my name is Donna, and I am a Whoser. I saw WLiiA? for
the first time in 1994 at my dad's in Ohio. I watched it every day that
week. Whe I got back to Florida, I found that we didn't have Comedy
Central. Whem I moved to Jacksonville in 1996, I discovered the show
again while I was home sick. I watched off and on and taped it sometimes.
In early 1997, I had a month or two of really rough times at work. There
was nothing Icould do about it, but it really began to effect my personal
life. By then I was taping WL every day and that, and the support of
my friends and family, were the only things that kept me sane. I was
even taking out my frustration on my friends, which is something I NEVER
do normally. So, I think WL may have saved a friendship or 2 also.
This is the point I got addicted. I would watch it every night after
work and then watch the entire tape on the weekends...twice. My roomies
started to worry about me a bit. But it was great stress relief and,
ok, I admit it, total escapism. I'll still pop in a tape when I'm sick
or in a bad mood. It does wonders. I've always loved comedy. I watched
stand up all the time. Improv comedy was something new and fresh for
me. The first epsiodes I saw were from the early 90's before Colin became
a regular. My favorite was Ryan, but I like most of them. Ryan and Colin
will always be my favorites, though I like Tony, Greg, Brad, Wayne,
Josie, Sandy, Denny...the list goes on. My favorite games are the singing
games, Dead Bodies, Party Quirks and Questions Only. Props and Film
Dub are my least favorite, though I will admit there have been some
very good ones.
Like so many of you, I found this board through Mark's page. Susan's
page led me toMark's which I thought was great. the first time I visited
the board, it was still really new with only a few messages, mostly
about Tony Slattery. I lurked for a few days then forgot about it for
a month or two. I began visting and posting regulary last January. I
asked Tash for my first tapes in January, too. I still have the e-mail
repsonse from Tash. I started to chat at the end of January. Right away,
I got hooked on the games and the people. And the rest is history.
